Camp Pegasus - Tech Trek (Rising 7th-9th graders)- Session B

Gain authentic scientific experiences and explore your creativity through exciting software, technology, and state-of-the-art computer and science labs at MICDS. Creative experts who share your enthusiasm for both technology and the wonders of science will lead the way to an excellent summer! Each session offers four engaging classes that every Tech Trek camper attends. Age: Campers entering 7th-9th grade welcome! Session B: June 27 – July 8 (No camp on July 4) Fencing En garde! Train in this amazing Olympic sport that challenges both the body and mind. Learn basic skills, strategy, footwork, and blade work techniques. Training includes supervised bouts, games, and other fun ways to build individual skills. Equipment rental included. Aero Dynamics and Rockets Can it fly? Let’s find out. Learn what can go up and stay up. You will also build and launch solid fuel model rockets. All basic models are provided. Advanced students can opt to continue with basic models or purchase more advanced models. Fabrication Lab If you can imagine it, we’ll figure out a way to fabricate it. From using traditional materials like wood and leather to modern moldable thermoplastics, Fab Fabrications will allow participants to design and create items that are both functional and artistic. Myth Debunkers Did you ever hear something and think, “that’s not possible”? Well, come and put it to the test. We will take some well-held myths and see if they are true or false.
