Wilderness Medicine (Ages 5-10)

Learn about snake bites and hypothermia and how to treat them, how to clean water so it is safe to drink, how to use a tourniquet, splint a broken leg and treat an injury in the wilderness.  Discover how to protect yourself from mosquitos and the different types of diseases they carry, how to stay safe in a forest, fire, flood, tornado and so much more!  Campers will go home with a disposable lab coat, snake model, thermal blanket, worksheets, splinting checklist, bandana, spray bottle, recipe card, edible/inedible wild plant card, lightning craft, lightning mazes, emergency supply kit craft, and a diploma.  Class held at the Center for Healthy Living in Dardenne Prairie.
