Roll up your sleeves, put on your makers cap, and get ready to create! This is our most hands-on camp! Who can build the strongest bridge? Can your bridge withstand the shake rattle and roll challenge? Explore the world of birds and beasts with birdhouse building and our super bug investigation. Enter the Mad Science chemistry lab and mix, mash, and brew concoctions to create cool sidewalk chalk and bath fizzers! Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, simple machines, and megapinchers! Campers will discover the wonders of photography and make their own chromatography art. It’s a week packed with non-stop science fun!

For this virtual camp, we'll pack up a bag for you of science activities to do at home! Your Mad Scientist will lead campers in demonstrations and activities and set them off on their discovery with science activities. Your Mad Scientist will be online the whole time to guide them and answer questions as the conduct their activities some independently and some as a group. Conducted via Zoom or similar. Children entering K and 1st may need assistance from a grown-up at home.

Note: Descriptions in below are based on in-person full-day programs. Specific "Camp at Home" activities may vary.

Birds and the Beasts Where do owls live and what do they eat? How do some bugs walk on water? How do ants collect all their food? These questions and more will be answered with a walk on the wild side of things to explore owls, birds and all kinds of bugs.
Crazy Chemistry Become a Mad Science chemist as you learn all about the chemistry that you encounter every dayl. Discover how you can tell if a chemical change has occurred right before your very eyes. Mix, mush and brew together different chemicals.
Jr. Engineers Check out shapes and why they are so strong! Investigate arches, and geodesic domes. Discover which shapes are the strongest. Test loads and build some bridges when you put on an engineer’s hat and learn about structures.
Machine Mania Find out how wedges, screws and levers help us with our daily lives. Use simple machines to complete different tasks like lifting weights. Run through an obstacle course and use teamwork to show how useful simple machines can be.
