Camp Fire (DHH)

Came FIRE's primary goal is to enhance the literacy skills of children who are DHH, for whom research has consistently emphasized delays in all areas identified by the National Reading Panel as critical elements for effective reading instruction and learning (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension) with additional goals, including enhancing social skills and providing hands-on teaching experience to graduate students as they work with professionals in deaf education to engage campers in learning activities.
