We will be camping overnight on Wednesday and Thursday night.
We will be having an exiting time exploring STEM activates such as how to make an egg bounce and glow in the dark, making light bulb light up using a lemon, making slime color changing slime, and much more! We will also be doing all of the summer camping favorites as well, such as hiking, canoeing, archery, and outdoor cooking to a few.
Girl Scout Day Camp at Southern Illinois provides girls with an adventurous program by day or evening (twilight camp), returning home each night. Many start at $50 for a week (M-F), for an affordable yet exciting and fun camp experience. Non- Girl Scouts are welcome to attend! Limited scholarships available.
For some amazing Girl Scout Resident Camp opportunities, the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois has partnered with Touch of Nature (on Little Grassy Lake) and Camp Ondessonk (in Ozark, IL).
At Touch of Nature sessions girls will stay in cabins with electricity and air conditioning. Camp activities include swimming in Little Grassy Lake, canoeing, hiking, archery, environmental education, rock climbing and high ropes for the older girls, camp crafts, badge work, Girl Scout songs and campfires! Camp Ondessonk has girls residing in rustic, three sided cabins. Camp activities include swimming in Lake Saint Isaac, canoeing, archery, riflery, handicrafts, hiking, horseback riding, challenge courses, overnight campout under the stars, Girl Scout songs and campfires and an all-camp marathon at the end of the week.
In order to attend sessions you must go to the program's website, register, and pay any required fees; adding them here does not register you for the session.
