For those who are new to the program and have never taken a piano lesson or had less than six months of piano lessons. The beginner camps are an introduction to the fundamentals of piano playing (posture, fingering, piano geography), and basic music theory (rhythm, notes, staffs, dynamics etc.). Students also learn about various composers and music genres in a fun and engaging way. Campers will also engage in Music Production and exploring music through technology. They will learn: • Configure a personal production workspace and use software instruments and audio recordings to produce a piece of music. • Create a composite version of a performance using multiple takes. • Create and effectively use audio loops in a music production. • Use and understand basic music theory and relate it to technology needs. • Walk away with your own produced and recorded composition. The camp is broken into three 50-minute rotating classes of piano, music theory and music production.
