Open Musical is a wonderful stage experience for aspiring musical theatre performers in middle school. In this production-oriented camp, we spend two weeks of the full-day camp session rehearsing this scripted musical. Based on the animated movie Moana, about the strong-willed daughter of the chief of a Polynesian village, Moana JR. features songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Opetaia Foa'i. When a blight strikes her island, Moana sets sail in search of Maui, a legendary demigod, in the hope of returning the heart of Te Fiti and saving her people. The show is performed free of charge for family and friends at COCA on June 17 at 7:00PM. Features multiple professional teaching artists to present a variety of arts disciplines.
