Throughout history, graphic designers have created images and posters designed to illuminate issues and move audiences. The most effective have elevated poster design to create lasting works of art. Artists like Jessie Willcox Smith, Emory Douglas, José Guadalupe Posada, and more recently, Shepard Fairey, have created hand drawn posters recognized as fine art. In this camp, we draw inspiration from these and other designers to use printmaking, handwritten, and drawn designs to create our own advocacy pieces.
