Tufts Summer Research Experience

Welcome to the Tufts Summer Research Experience! Conduct research at a nationally-ranked research university and gain exposure to large-scale research projects. Be immersed in the world of collegiate research at one of the premier research-focused universities in the Boston area in this 6-week, in-person program. Develop a variety of foundational research skills through workshops, guest speakers, field trips, and more during their time at Tufts. Students will show off all of their hard work at a closing research poster session with peers, family, and faculty! In their application, students will rank their preferred three research methodologies they're interested in exploring throughout their summer.* Collaborate with a small peer group to complete a research project in a specific methodology under the guidance of a dedicated Teaching Fellow. During programming, mornings will be spent conducting hands-on research sessions in research methodology cohorts, and in the afternoons, students will participate in engaging workshops, field trips, and shadow research currently happening here at Tufts. Students will be exposed to different research methodologies, bias in research, and spend time in the Tufts Digital Design Studio to create a final research poster. During the Tufts Summer Research Experience, students will use the research principles and skills shared and apply them directly to a research project. Students are expected to attend all mentoring sessions and meetings.
