St. Louis community College - Xploration Healthcare

Youth, ages 11-15, will receive hands-on experience in the world of health care as they learn in a simulated medical environment about anatomy, physiology and the technology used to diagnose and treat patients. Over the course of four days, they’ll explore responsibilities and participate in training activities performed by various careers including: Clinical Lab Technician, EMT/Paramedic, Nurse, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Sonographer, Dental Hygienist. Youth will go inside an ambulance simulator, look under the microscope, watch the blood flow and organ systems from an ultrasound machine and more! Taught in small groups, the program is an immersive and exciting glimpse into a growing industry, taught by professionals in the field at St. Louis Community College – Forest Park campus.
